Actively enrolled students at Mt. SAC can request Microsoft Office 365 Education for free, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, and Microsoft Teams. Inactive / past students will lose these licenses.
To request a license, you must have a valid Mt. SAC student email, and use your MountieMail+ student email address (@student.mtsac.edu) to contact us.
- Using your Mt. SAC student email (i.e. you@student.mtsac.edu), send an email to helpdesk@mtsac.edu from your Mt. SAC student email address with a subject that includes the words "Microsoft Office 365 Account" and attach proof of enrollment. Proof of enrollment can be a screenshot or PDF of your student schedule or your Canvas dashboard.
- It must be from your Mt. SAC student email. If you do not have an active Mt. SAC student email, you cannot get a license.
- Your email must include "Microsoft Office 365 Account" in the subject. Not doing so will cause a delay to your service.
- Your email must include proof of your current enrollment for manual verification. Without enrollment, you cannot get a license.
- You will receive an email response that a ticket has been created for your request.
- The system will attempt to automatically verify your enrollment. If you can be automatically verified, a Microsoft Office 365 account will be created for you, and you will be emailed with a one-time password.
- If your enrollment cannot be automatically verified, a will attempt to verify your enrollment. If successful, a Microsoft Office 365 account will be created for you, and you will be emailed with a one-time password.
- If we cannot verify your enrollment, the process ends and your request will be resolved as being not applicable to inactive students.
- Once your account is created, you can visit https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/education/products/office to log in.
